Volunteering Opportunities
Companionship and/or regular check-ins: Provide opportunities for social interaction
to people who have limited ability to get out on their own. This includes in-home visits as
well as outings to a coffee shop, a favorite park, or other venue. It does not include
housekeeping, assistance with adult daily living activities, or any form of patient care.
Transportation: Safe for driver and passenger, for medical or other appointments.
Meal Delivery: Delivery to people who cannot pick up their own meals.
Shopping: This includes taking someone to the store or getting a shopping list and
going to the store for them. Recipients will reimburse the shopper or provide cash
ahead of time.
Referrals to government services and application assistance: This requires experience and
expertise in working with agencies that regulate government funding of health and human services.
Other support based on need and circumstance: Laundry, taking out the trash, other simple household chores, running errands.
